A young patient was referred to me with an esthetic complaint. Two implants were placed one year earlier in the anterior zone by a so called implant specialist. The patient could did not smile anymore because of the poor esthetic outcome. The only thing I could do was to remove both implants and reconstruct the implant sites again.

Me derivan a un paciente joven por demanda estética. Un año atrás se colocaron dos implantes en la zona anterior. El paciente podría no volver a sonreír más por el pobre resultado estético. Lo único que podía hacer era quitar ambos implantesy reconstruir los lechos de los implantes de nuevo.

A patient was referred with pain in de buccal region of implant 12.
There was bleeding and pus on probing, but I could only probe a deep pocket at the buccal aspect.
After flap elevation there appeared a buccal defect.
It is / was not clear what could have been the cause of the defect.
It is a screw retained crown so, cement could not be the cause.
Maybe another Foreign body.?
I chose the folowing approach:
- debridement of the defect: Airflow and saline
-Biomaterials mixed with bone chips from the tuber and Metronidazole 50mg powder
-CTG from the palate/tuber area for membrane purpose, tissue quality and volume boosting.
See and wait what will happen over time.
